Phil Mathewson, President

Phil Mathewson is a 'local boy' raised right here in Hancock. Phil began his venture into business in 1986 when he started Mathewson Blacktop. The amazing growth and transformation is the direct result of his dedication to his company, the customers and the employees. Phil has grown the company from a one man seal coating operation to a multi-faceted, comprehensive construction service company offering all aspects of site work, road construction, paving, septic installation - service - inspection, winter maintenance and, most recently, a gravel pit. Phil is actively involved with the managers and foremen and is aware of the status of all jobs coming up and currently at hand.

One of the most important values of the Mathewson Companies is to be a good member of the community and to have a sense of community among our family of employees and this begins at the top with Phil.

Glenn Stahl, Vice President

Glenn joined the company in 1993 and in addition to his role as Vice President, serves as the Paving Division Manager. Glenn manages all paving, seal coating and asphalt maintenance foremen running a full and tight schedule of paving jobs from after the frost leaves in the spring until it returns in the fall. Glenn has overseen the paving for all Mathewson Companies residential subdivisions, commercial parking lots, public and private roads, and hundreds (perhaps thousands) of local residential driveways. 

Greg Goff, Controller

Greg Goff came to The Mathewson Companies in July 1998 as Office Manager. In October 2000, he became Controller and the following month he also became Controller for Allen & Mathewson Energy Corp as well. Since then, Greg has split his time between the two companies. In July 2001, Greg became a corporate officer and took on the role of Treasurer.

Garrick Raczek, Operations Manager

Garrick joined Mathewson Co. in January, 2011. He brought 20 years experience in the construction industry with him. His duties include facilitating production and service work; coordinating scheduling and logistics; planning the use of materials, equipment and human resources as well as overseeing the daily operations. Garrick lives in Hancock with his family.

Brian Wesolowski, Paving Division Foreman

Brian has been with Mathewson Companies since  2002. He oversees the paving operations on a day-to-day basis providing direct supervision on the paving jobs and keeping the crew working together like a well-oiled machine. He is experienced at coordinating multiple jobs or multiple portions of large jobs. Depending on the size of the jobs, the paving crew often finishes multiple jobs in one day.
